At a glance
Les Aubépines is Golf Club d’Amiens’ century-old course, a flat wooded parkland whose chalk subsoil supports dry year-round play.
History
The first holes appeared in 1925, recognised as the club’s sporting birth. The course evolved gradually before reaching its current configuration in 1977. Amiens celebrated its centenary in 2025 and joined France’s limited group of century-old clubs. Its history also includes the creation of Handigolf in 1993 by club members.
The course lies at Querrieu minutes from central Amiens, beside the local woodland. Ground is flat, framed by mature trees and hedges. Chalk subsoil provides excellent drainage, a major advantage in Picardy’s climate. Vegetation shelters wind but narrows playing lines.
Architecture
The design rewards thought before every tee shot. Fairways are not always long, but trees quickly close green angles. Bunkers defend targets and several tees favour position over distance. Visual simplicity hides genuine strategy.
FFGolf publishes 6,086 metres, par 72, men’s Course Rating 72. 9 and Slope 140. These values confirm a course much harder than its flat terrain suggests. Lateral mistakes are heavily punished by trees.
Club experience
The member-owned club has roughly five hundred members and a strong competitive culture. It hosts Grand Prix events and the 2026 French Senior 2 Internationals. Facilities include practice, a six-hole compact, panoramic restaurant, lounges and terrace.
