At a glance
Golf Club Beveren is a unique Flemish inland-links nine-hole course in an unexpected natural setting beside the Port of Antwerp.
History
Golf Vlaanderen presents the modern course as opened in 2013. From 2017, Belgian architect Dimitri Van Hauwaert directed a substantial redesign, rerouting several holes and adding new par threes. The club transformed exposed former land into a technically recognised course. The site lies at Kallo near the Port of Antwerp in open land of dikes, meadow, water and distant industrial horizons. Wind is a permanent factor. Undulating fairways and natural areas create a genuine inland-links feeling.
Architecture
The course includes blind shots, doglegs, narrow fairways and rolling greens. Apparent width can be deceptive: the correct side of the landing area is often essential for the approach. New par threes strengthened routing variety. WHS tables list 3,030 metres from white tees, par 36, with men’s Course Rating 35. 8 and Slope 121. Played twice, it forms a par-72 round. Wind and bounce make each circuit different.
Club experience
Visitors are welcomed up to handicap 50 on the nine-hole course. The club also provides a four-hole compact course, driving range, short-game areas and clubhouse. Nine holes; par 36; 3,030 metres from white tees; Course Rating 35. 8; Slope 121; Flanders’ unique inland links; redesigned by Dimitri Van Hauwaert.
