At a glance

History
Blue completes Deauville’s historic loops and carries Lucien Barrière’s name. Sources associate its design with Henry Cotton within the Tom Simpson heritage. Its full length and structure make it a genuine sporting course. The course occupies Deauville’s high ground in rolling parkland. Sea wind acts on open sectors while trees and rough divide the lines.
Architecture
Two par threes, five par fours and two par fives combine fast greens, numerous bunkers and penal rough. Par fives invite attack only from accurate positions. FFGolf and several scorecards publish 3,038 metres and par 36. Played twice, Blue becomes 6,076 metres and par 72.
Club experience
Lucien Barrière has a separate green fee and shares the hotel, academy, range and event facilities. 9 holes; par 36; 3,038 metres by FFGolf; Henry Cotton within Tom Simpson heritage; marketed as Lucien Barrière.
