Garden Golf Forêt de Chantilly

Forêt de Chantilly is a Michel Gayon course combining fourteen forest-edge holes with four more aquatic holes inspired by formal French gardens.

The course opened in 1988 as part of a major convention resort at Vineuil-Saint-Firmin. Michel Gayon was asked to create a layout accessible to several levels but long and structured enough for competitive golf. It now operates within UGOLF beside Mercure Chantilly. The property lies on sandy ground immediately beside Chantilly forest. Fourteen holes follow woodland edges with tree-framed fairways and excellent drainage. Four holes near the hotel are more open, built around canals and water recalling formal French garden geometry.

Gayon creates a clear forest-and-garden contrast. Among trees, vegetation and doglegs define lines. Near the hotel, water and axial views take over. Large greens and multiple tees provide adaptability, while long par fours and fives require strong back-tee play. FFGolf publishes 6,181 metres and par 72, with men’s Course Rating 72. 3 and Slope 130. The back nine is slightly longer. Fairways remain reasonably generous, but water and forest lines punish major errors.

The venue includes hotel, pool, fitness, dining, seminars, range, simulator and training areas.
