Estoril — an old Portuguese classic reshaped by Mackenzie Ross

The course is situated in the residential hills of Estoril, nestled among pine trees, eucalyptus, gardens, and undulating terrain.

Estoril Golf Course began to take shape in the 1920s with an initial nine-hole layout associated with Jean Gassiat. Philip Mackenzie Ross redesigned the course and added nine more holes in the 1940s, giving birth to the current championship layout.

Compact routing, narrow fairways, small greens and restrained bunkering create a precise classic test.

The course is short by modern standards, but demands a high degree of precision and a keen understanding of the slopes.

Estoril maintains the atmosphere of a historic club, conveniently located near Cascais, hotels, and the coastline.
