De Peelse Golf

: a natural championship course set within the woodland and open land of the Peel.

The course opened in 1996 and received NGF A-status. Alan Rijks created an 18-hole parkland intended for national and regional competition. The club also added the Broekbos par-three course and a substantial golf academy. The course lies in northern Limburg near the woodland and agricultural landscapes of the Peel. Trees, heath and wet areas give the property a quiet natural identity. Dutch Limburg occupies a unique place in the country’s golf geography. Its hills, valleys and varied soils create sightlines and ball flights that are impossible on northern polder courses. The region’s proximity to Belgium and Germany also gives its clubs a naturally cross-border membership and visitor culture.

Rijks used broad fairways, water and strategically placed bunkers to create accessible but meaningful decisions. Greens and surrounds can support competition preparation. The relationship between tee, landing area and green is therefore more important than apparent width. Architects use slopes to create uphill, downhill and uneven-lie shots without making every hole depend on raw length. The par-72 course has full length. Drives must avoid water and preserve the correct angle. The course is generally comfortable to walk and maintains a smooth rhythm.

Clubhouse, Hole 19 restaurant, partly covered practice range and Broekbos Course create a complete offer. Nearby De Schatberg strengthens its group-stay appeal. Local hospitality—terraces, dining, accommodation and access to historic towns—extends the day beyond the final green. A visit can easily form part of a multi-day stay in the Meuse-Rhine Euroregion.
