Bois d’Arlon Golf & Resort

Parkland is Bois d’Arlon’s nine-hole estate course, designed by Jonathan Davison through the castle gardens on exceptionally free-draining sandy ground.

Bois d’Arlon Golf & Resort is one of Belgium’s most recent ambitious golf developments. Set across 220 hectares, it combines an 18-hole Heathland course with a nine-hole Parkland. Jonathan Davison designed the Parkland as part of the broader revival of the castle estate, now including a four-star hotel, spa, brasserie, academy and event facilities. The course winds through the castle park in Belgian Lorraine. Ancient trees frame fairways and natural sand provides excellent drainage. Historic gardens, woodland, open views and gentle elevation create strong variety. The sandy base supports near year-round play.

Davison created a more intimate experience than the neighbouring Heathland. Fairways shift between generous and narrow, bunkers defend preferred angles and undulating greens require careful reading. The par threes are not necessarily long, but they are exacting, particularly the fifth hole highlighted by the club. Parkland functions as a genuine compact championship nine. Firm soil permits running golf, while trees and bunkers demand trajectory control. Wind is less dominant than on the Heathland, but position and strategy remain essential. The resort also offers combinations using nine Heathland holes and the Parkland.

The experience extends beyond golf: a 64-room hotel, Cinq Mondes spa, restaurant, nineteenth-hole bar, academy and seminar spaces make it a complete destination. Visitors are welcomed seven days a week and may book Parkland independently.
